Fight Night: Round 3 is probably the best example of how Xbox 360 makes gaming better. After having seen FN3 on Xbox, I felt it was a good game, but it lacked some clarity in graphics. However, after having bought FN3 for Xbox 360, the game became, for me, one of the top games on the 360(along with Oblivion and Rainbow Six Vegas).
The Gameplay in FN3 is amazing. You completely dictate the punches thrown based on the RS or the buttons based on the Configuration you select. You throw jabs and hooks to weaken your opponent. You throw haymakers(RB) when your opponent is exposed to get increased damage. However, if you miss(realistic), you are exposed to punches from your opponent. Also, there is a stun punch. The stun punch completely takes away your opponent's composure and allows you to go for the knockout in slowed down/zoned in modseconds . However, the punch takes about 3 seconds to throw and leaves you extremely exposed before and after(if you miss).
To play the game, start a career mode. You can play as yourself or another established boxer. To complete your career/win the belt you must complete around 45 fights. You can do this in any weight class that you select at the beginning of your career. Also, you select your nickname which will be said by the announcers of the fight(e.g. Ice man). Throughout your career, you will have 2-4 rivals that you face more than once in your career including your biggest rival whom you will face at key points of your career. With each fight, you begin to earn more and more money which can be used to upgrade your equipment such as gloves and trunks. Once you complete the career mode, as an added bonus, you have earned all 1000 achievement points.
The graphics/sounds of FN3 are remarkable. Everytime you hit or are hit you see the sweat and blood fly. Also, after having knocked down someone, they show the knockdown in slow motion that shows everything from their face getting crushed to the blood spurting out.
The Good: Graphics, controls, training games, achievements, espn classic fights, fun career mode
The Bad: Limited Soundtrack, Needs more options when you create a boxer, although fun, the career mode can get repetitive
